Black Notebook

Lately, I've been carrying this one black notebook around with me - mostly to school. No matter what, I have it with me and I usually carry it, instead of keeping it in my backpack. There is nothing very special about this notebook...except for the fact that it has the power to drive a few of my friends crazy.

I will write in it but then as soon as anyone comes close or moves their head to take a look at what I'm writing I will immediately slam it shut, even if I'm in the middle of a word. But by doing this it makes mt friends very curious as to what I'm writing in there.

Most people tend to guess that it's a diary or a journal (although I have told them many times that I do not have the vigilance to keep a diary/journal, nor do I have anything very interesting that's going on in my life. Then they guess some other silly stiff like a fanfiction (but to actually be able to write one I need a co-author or just someone to help with ideas), love letters (xD no) and even a deathnote.

One time I was writing in it at lunch and I was sort of angled away from my one friend that is deathly curious about it but I was angled slightly towards another and one minute I was happily writing then the next I hear the friend I was slightly angled towards, right near my ear ask me how my quiz went, I panicked (because I had no idea how long she could have been there), gasped,  slammed the book shut, and then couldn't properly breathe for a few minutes, although she reassured me she hadn't seen anything it took me a while to calm down enough just to reply to her question.

I really love this notebook, it drives people crazy (I like seeing people freak out over it although it's not very important) and it gives me something to do when I'm bored. Even though I do panic on occasion and need to keep constant watch over it, writing in this notebook helps me think.

Shape-Shifting

I really wish I could shape-shift.

I mean isn't it better than any of the other powers (except for probability manipulation). Because for mind-reading, yes it would be a good power to have but you don't really want to know what everyone thinks of you. And flight that would be cool to but what's the point of having flight without being able to be invisible at the same time?

Though if you could shape-shift you could just become something that can fly and your power could stay hidden. And for invisibility you could just sort of become something that fits into your surroundings.

With shape-shifting you could become anything a dragon, a wolf, an owl, a bee. Whatever. I feel like the other powers would be confining in a way.
Flight: that's it nothing else you can fly.
Invisibility: simple enough become shy and don't talk a lot voila you are (in a way) invisible.

With becoming an animal, you have the heightened senses, along with the abilities that are species specific. Yes, if you wanted to keep it a secret I guess shape-shifting might not be too much fun for some people who would want to show it off (not me).

Imagine it: while camping you are exploring the forest and there is no one around why not become a wolf? You can suddenly enjoy you can suddenly enjoy your explorations on a deeper level, more scents, you can run and you can feel so free.

There is quite a lot of stories, legends, myths, etc. surrounding this idea, Like werewolves but they have no power over the transformations. Also Mystique, in X-Men where she could shape-shift herself into whatever she wanted.

So the power to shape-shift would be really great to have (especially if you can control the transformations) , some people might want to use it to become a hotter version of themselves, gradually. But no, I would prefer to be a dragon or something like that.
